Antique Persian Heriz rug with a dreamy Art Nouveau botanical landscape in lush variegated blues. The rug has a bright, but soft colorway with a beautiful multidimensional effect from the variation in the tones. The ground is a gorgeous French Blue that covers two thirds of the field, then shifting to midnight, and then indigo. The border and botanical motifs are in variations of burnt orange, coral, and terracotta, with baby blue, cerulean, antique gold, buttercream, and small pops of scarlet and walnut. The weavers of this rug and dyers of the wool had a deep understanding of the power of color and contrast.
