Antique Heriz Bakshaish rug with a striking large scale design featuring serrated leave motifs and stylized blossom palmettes in various archaic shapes. Naturally dyed colors of jade green, muted pale gold, Persian blue, teal green, pale yellow, salmon pink, robin egg blue, charcoal, and cream, present softly on a rich rusty red ground. It is at once adventurous and eclectic, rooted in old spirit and culture.

Origin: Heriz area (Bakhshayesh), East Azerbaijan Iran
Materials: Hand knotted handspun wool pile on a cotton foundation. Natural dyes.
Condition: Good condition overall with evenly low pile over most of the rug. Shows scattered areas of use and two or three very small restored spots. Ready to enjoy and suitable for normal everyday use. Professionally hand washed.
