Antique Heriz Serapi rug with a majestic presence boasting a large square medallion in slatey teal on a rich rust tinged red ground. Bold finial palmettes in cream and freely drawn stylized botanicals impress with Old World power. A seldom seen shield palmette border in cream and pale greyish blue corners add to the regal character. It’s hard to imagine this splendid rug didn’t spend its previous life in a castle.

Materials: Hand knotted handspun wool pile on a cotton foundation. Natural dyes.
Condition: Good condition overall with evenly low pile over most of the rug and some areas showing stronger wear. A few scattered very small old repairs. Ready to enjoy and suitable for normal everyday use. Professionally hand washed.
