Semi antique Gabbeh rug from the tribal weavers of Shiraz in Southwest Iran. Gabbeh rugs from this period were made for home use and not for export. They tend to have bright colors and charming folkloric artwork. This particular rug is a gem with its large perching birds and simple tree figures. The main ground is a rich burnt orange with the central pool in sea green. It is an authentic and delightful weaving.

Materials: Hand knotted handspun wool pile on a wool foundation.
Condition: Good condition overall with lustrous low/flat pile over most of the rug, and some areas showing more use and wear. Ready to enjoy and suitable for normal everyday use. Professionally hand washed.
