Antique Heriz Rug 6’2”x6’8” Transcaucasia Beauty in Denim and Chestnut
Rug No. 147590
Antique Heriz from a rare group of rugs based on designs borrowed from their northwestern neighbors of Transcaucasia. This particular piece is a lovely rendition of the Karachov Kazak design found in Armenia in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Two large denim blue octagonal motifs float on a rich chestnut ground with blossom cartouches arranged all around. It is a playful effect in a soft color rhythm of pale salmon, buff, seafoam, jade, green, navy blue, and cream.
