Antique Persian Serapi Heriz rug with a combination of exemplary characteristics we seldom find these days. Like all great Serapi grade Heriz, this has a finely knotted structure with close cropped velvety pile and a thin supple texture. The colors, all from naturally derived dyes, have a soft glow that emulates the sunrise against a deep night sky. A large blocky medallion in buttercream fills the center like the snowcapped mountains the weavers lived amongst. It is all a reflection of nature: the mountains, sun, and sky. Colors include varying tones of rust to terracotta, deep luminous blue, celadon green, aquamarine, sea green, salmon, denim blue, baby blue, and more. This artwork will have you in awe of its quiet power.

Materials: Hand knotted handspun wool pile on a cotton foundation. Natural dyes.

Condition: Good condition overall with evenly low pile over most of the rug. A few scattered small areas showing wear. Ready to enjoy and suitable for normal everyday use. Professionally hand washed.
