Antique Persian Karaja rug with beautifully arranged artwork full of various animals and geometric motifs. Extra attention was given to the border design, and close inspection reveals the weaver was quite fond of dogs! In addition to the gorgeous mahogany ground there is denim blue, navy blue, antique gold, pale celadon green, salmon, teal, cream, and dark brown.
Size: 4’9”x6’0”
Origin: Northwest Persia.
Materials: Hand knotted handspun wool pile on a cotton foundation. Natural dyes.
Condition: Good condition overall with low pile, areas of stronger wear, and some tattering at ends and sides. Ready to enjoy.
