Vintage Persian Tabriz Rug 9'6"x12'4'' Exquisite Paradise Garden Quadrant Design
Rug No. 74532
Vintage Persian Tabriz rug with a wonderful rendition of the centuries old Paradise Garden quadrant design. The artwork has its origins in the Mughal Charbagh formal walled gardens built by Emperor Babur and his successors from the 16th through 18th centuries. Walled gardens with similar architecture were also built concurrently in the Persian Empire. Each panel or niche represents a part of the heavenly garden separated by small irrigation canals. These formal palace gardens were mathematically precise in their architectural plan of ornamental divinity. This particular rug with its idyllic panels has a soft palette of light and dark blues, salmon and terracotta, taupe and cream. The mosaic patterned arched friezes and columns are particularly beautiful. Your Paradise Garden awaits!
