Antique Persian Heriz rug with a rare combination of superb colors and chunky artwork. The navy blue ground is like a night sky of botanical constellations twinkling around an eight pointed star medallion. Stepped corner spandrels in coral and sea green seem to cradle outsized palmettes in tomato red, and it’s all held in place by a spacious Serapi border. The accents pop in jade green, ice blue, sky blue, fawn, walnut, and cream. Wow!
