Fine antique Benlian Tabriz rug with the subtle sparkle of rare pastel tones on a pale peach ground. A delicate rendition of the Safavid period Shah Abbas blossom palmette design with arabesque vines and cloudband motifs is framed by a muted red border of pheasants and wolves. The colors are soft as the lustrous wool and include pale peacock blue, sage green, pale yellow, dusty pink, mauve, and cream. The highly esteemed Benlian trademark star is woven into the upper left corner bearing the Ghanadi signature, one of Benlian’s foremost workshops.
