Antique Kurdish village tribal runner with a stunning jewel necklace design on a remarkable abrashed slate ground. Old and rare, with that vitality and personality we look for when curating our collection. Woven into the design are two women who we assume are the weavers. Aside from the charming artwork, the rug shows an exceptional use of abrash (color variegation) in the slate ground creating a beautiful brindle effect. The rug was knotted from very lustrous hand spun wool on a wool foundation with colors derived from all natural dyes.

Condition: Excellent condition overall with evenly low lustrous pile. Minor imperfections commensurate with age and use. Ready to enjoy and suitable for normal everyday use. Professionally hand washed.
