Antique late 19th century Saliani rug from the southern Caucasus. A flickering series of four borders surround a glowing indigo pool in a geometric water garden display. The naturally dyed colors and hand spun wool are superb. Colors include a stunning verdigris (copper green), lemon yellow, tomato red, sky blue, maroon, coffee bean, and cream.

Materials: Hand knotted handspun wool pile on a wool and cotton foundation. Natural dyes.
Condition: Good condition overall. Most of the rug has nice silky low pile with some areas showing wear. The brown wool is corroded with some of it repiled. Original sides and ends (rare!). Ready to enjoy.
