Vintage Persian Tabriz rug with a stunning botanical design in the fashion of the Shah Abbas royal court carpets of the 16th century. The artwork is a great example of grandeur and elegance without fussiness. Of course the wide array of soft harmonious colors add to the dreamy impression created by the flowing large scale blossoms and leaves. A divine French blue ground suggests a refreshing pool within the airy cream border. Botanical motifs are subtly toned in vermilion, antique gold, navy blue, pewter, silver, coffee bean, colonial blue, walnut, dusty rose, raspberry, pastel pink, cumin seed, olive green, and more. Superbly satisfying.
