Antique Persian Tabriz Rug 9'6"x12'2" Rare Pale Gold and Green Masterpiece
Rug No. 124525
Antique Persian Tabriz rug with a sensuous arabesque of polychrome blossom palmettes, forked leaves, and smaller botanicals, interconnected by a baby blue lattice on a pale gold ground. The border may be what the eye is ultimately drawn to though, with its nearly infinite transitions of rich greens that actually spring from an equally delightful cerulean blue. Pure genius. The color harmony, artistic design, and fine quality are fitting of its heritage as a rare signed example from the esteemed Ghanadi workshop in Tabriz produced during the early part of the first Pahlavi Shah period 1925-1941.
