Antique Southwest Persian Khamseh Shiraz rug with fabulous tribal motifs and a soft earthy colorway. Authentic weavings like this one represent a pastoral way of life that is all but lost to modernity. Four diamond medallions draw the eye in, but it is the myriad of activity in the surrounding field that wins the heart. The earth tone colors are all derived from vegetable dyes and include the denim blue ground, aged brick, sea green, aquamarine, pale apricot, muted coral, black coffee, and cream.
