Antique Turkmen Yomud tribal rug with a gently dancing pattern of “Dyrnak” guls on a velvety muted purplish brown background. Fine authentic antique Turkmen tribal rugs like this are increasingly hard to find due to their limited supply and desirable decorative value. The ancient geometric motif known as the Dyrnak gul has a subtle optical impression perpetual motion. Accent colors are mallard green, navy blue, scarlet red, denim blue, pale salmon, and cream. Soft, fine, lustrous, and lively, and in wonderful condition for its age.

Origin: West Turkmenistan or Northeast Persia
Materials: Hand knotted handspun wool pile on a wool foundation. Natural dyes.
Condition: Good condition overall with lustrous low pile over most of the rug. A few very small inconspicuous stains. Ready to enjoy and suitable for normal everyday use. Professionally hand washed.
